ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ON
Most vehicles the DPF warning light will illuminate and stay on to tell you that the unit is becoming blocked and requires regeneration.
When conditions are right (at temp at speed plenty of fuel ) it will attempt to burn off the built up soot using a regeneration. If the regeneration fails you may get engine warning light on your dash. This occurs when the DPF is blocked beyond the point at which a normal regeneration will not clear it and indicates a garage visit is required.
Failure to resolve this problem can result in costly DPF replacment costs.
